About the Artists

Price Maples Sr.

Price D. Maples Sr., born April 11, 1943, in Lexington, Kentucky, is a Kentucky photographer and artist whose work has focused on capturing the character, beauty, and history of Lexington and the surrounding Bluegrass region. Raised among many of the older architectural landmarks that once defined the city, he developed a deep appreciation for the historic buildings, streets, landscapes, and everyday scenes that make Kentucky unique.

Through his photography, Price Maples Sr. has spent decades preserving both old and new Kentucky locations that families have visited, remembered, and cherished throughout the years. His images present Lexington and other Kentucky scenes with warmth, atmosphere, and a strong sense of place.

Known for seeing beauty in the subjects he photographs, his work reflects a lifelong passion for Kentucky art, regional history, and visual storytelling. His goal has always been to promote Lexington and the state of Kentucky in a way that allows others to experience the beauty, culture, and spirit of the Bluegrass region.

Formerly operating as Price Maples Sr. Art & Framing and the Starving Artist Outlet, his work and experience helped build the foundation that would later become Kentucky Art And More.

Ryan Maples

Ryan Maples continues the family legacy as a Kentucky artist, photographer, printmaker, and digital artist focused on preserving and presenting Kentucky through fine art photography and print production. Born on April 11, the same day as his father, Ryan grew up surrounded by photography, framing, printing, and the visual arts from an early age.

While much of the photography featured at Kentucky Art And More originates from the work of Price Maples Sr., Ryan plays a major role in the restoration, reconstruction, printing, and presentation of the artwork. His work includes digital reconstruction, archival printing, image refinement, and the careful preparation of prints designed for long-term display.

Ryan is especially known for the Historic Town collection, where individual buildings are photographed separately and digitally reconstructed to preserve the scale, atmosphere, and architectural character of Kentucky’s historic streets and downtown districts. His approach combines photography, digital artistry, and visual storytelling to create artwork that feels both authentic and emotionally connected.

Through Kentucky Art And More, Ryan continues expanding the family’s artistic vision while preserving the work and legacy built over decades of photography and craftsmanship.

A Shared Vision

Together, Price Maples Sr. and Ryan Maples share a passion for Kentucky art, photography, and preserving the beauty and character of the Bluegrass region. Their work reflects a deep appreciation for Kentucky landscapes, architecture, horse farms, historic towns, and the atmosphere that makes the state unique.

Every print offered through Kentucky Art And More is produced with careful attention to quality, presentation, and longevity using archival papers and inks. Whether capturing quiet countryside scenes, historic architecture, or the changing atmosphere of Kentucky’s seasons, their goal is to create artwork that feels meaningful, authentic, and lasting.
